It is dedicated to researching, preserving, and sharing the stories of German-speaking immigrants and their descendants in the larger context of global migration past and present. All Anabaptists practice believer’s (adult) baptism and nonviolence. The Amish branched off from the Swiss Mennonites in 1693, with members of both groups migrating shortly thereafter to colonial Pennsylvania.
